It's beautiful all around Muar

I haven't gotten to writing in a long while. Have been busy living - #sorry not sorry!

It's been a crazy time all around the globe recently and we managed to catch a last trip to Muar, a town a drive away from JB right before the border closures. It was the first time I did a road trip to Malaysia so everything was new and exciting to me!

It was a trip of many firsts. New experiences and really coming back with the feeling that Malaysia was a new country for a true vacation.

I have never truly considered Malaysia as a true vacation. I think it must be due to the fact that I have never done a real Malaysia road trip in my adulthood, I mean up till Muar. Road trips are so fun! You can stop at whichever pitstops you so wish, linger for a while longer to soak in the atmosphere of what it means to truly live life at a slower pace.

I have always liked road trips. The most memorable one was the one I took when I was 21, in Aussie where we drove a campervan all around Melbourne's Great Ocean Road.

In this trip though, I did enjoy it pretty much. We ate a ton and relaxed a lot. Nobody's complaining ;)

I am talking about - 3x crab meals in 3 days.
Minimally 4x stops for drinks and snacks at eateries per day.
Took a long afternoon nap every day because it was simply too hot to go out in the afternoon. It was super shiok to take afternoon naps and being all snuggled under the duvet when it is blasting hot outside. What a novelty - we can never really do that on the weekdays when there is work.

Life was pretty good. It is also no wonder the first thing I did when I came home from the road trip was to stand on the weighing scale to see how much I have put on.

But lo and behold, Phew! Luckily the entire week of workouts prior to the trip paid off. Didn't over indulge - aka can indulge more.

Here are some of the pictures I took of the places we visited - many thanks to sbb's dad for having all the names of the places in an itinerary so I could easily refer to them while recounting the places we went to.
